Wave 1 this, Wave 5 that… youโre probably tuning in because youโve heard this term being thrown around the community and wondered what it actually means! ๐ง
In short, “Waves” refer to the groups of Beyblades that Hasbro releases together in regions outside of Asia. Instead of dropping every Beyblade at once, they release them in themed sets throughout the year to keep the stadium fresh.
Typically, a new wave is packed with one of the following:
- Hasbro Exclusives: Original works from the Hasbro team.
- New Parts: Fresh Blades, Ratchets, and Bits to level up your combos.
- New Colour Combinations: Parts in different colours.
- Takara Tomy Retools: Hasbro versions of the Japanese releases.
And thanks to our friends at BBAN (Beyblade Australia Network) we can give you a quick breakdown of what’s in the current wave releases! and a few Drawzy tips on which pieces are the best to grab!

Wave 1

In my opinion the most optimal purchases in this wave is:
- X-Streme stadium, Dagger Dran, 4-60R & Tusk Mammoth, 3-60T. Starter Set.
- Wind Launcher
- Soar Phoenix (9-60GF) & String Launcher set.
The Wave 1 Stadium Hasbroโs Wave 1 stadium is slightly smaller than the Takara Tomy version (which is the tournament standard). However, it is still a fantastic pick-up if you are looking for something fun straight out of the box! It is the easiest way to get the battle started at home.
The Soar Phoenix Set Great value right out of the box!
- Great Value: Everything you need to go from the box straight to a competitive event.
- The Blade: A heavy hitter that still holds its own in the current meta.
- 9-60 Ratchet: Arguably the best ratchet in the game. A must-have for any combo!
- String Launcher: A reliable launcher that will serve you well for plenty of battles.
Wave 2
A lot of variation in this wave but not a lot of stand out pieces when we are talking about meta play. In my opinion the best purchases in this wave are:
- Leon Claw: Grab it for the 5-60 (Black) and the Point Bit (Red).
- Roar Tyranno: The easiest and most affordable way to get your hands on a 9-60 Ratchet.
- Sting Unicorn: A decent, reliable Blade that comes with a solid 5-60 (White and Aqua).

Wave 3
Below are some of the best purchases choices (in my opinion) that you can get from wave 3.

Wave 3 picks:
- Buster Dran: Even though it has fallen off the meta slightly, itโs still a hard-hitting Beyblade. The real reason to cop this set is for that 1-60 Ratchet!
- Tyranno and Shinobi Set: Tyranno might not be top-tier anymore, but it remains a super reliable choice if you can snag a copy.
- Wand Wizard (Wizard Rod): An absolute essential! It continues to be a dominant meta blade in the competitive landscape.
Wave 4
Wave 4 is currently the “holy grail” of Hasbro drops. Here are the must-haves:
- Wand Wizard (Green): Hands down the best purchase you can make. Every piece in this set is usable, even in its stock combo.
- Hammer Incendio: You are really buying this for the Hex Bit and the 3-70 Ratchet.
- Shark (Black): Features a very good Black 1-60 Ratchet.
- Soar Phoenix (Blue): This uses the Mould 3 version, making it heavier than the standard. It also comes with a solid Hex Bit.
- Cobalt Dragoon: A left-spinning blade that comes with a Blue Left-Spin Launcher

The “Clash and Carry” stadium is great option for people who want to Battle on the go! Its a portable folding stadium that has its own handle and is the same size as a lunch box.
Wave 5
While the CX line might not see as much use as others, there are some good affordable parts to find!
- Arc Wizard: Grab this for the Low Orb bit and 4-55 ratchet.
- Dark Perseus: Comes with the Wedge bit.
- Tide Whale: A fun blade that includes the meta Elevate bit.
- Silver Wolf: A very good blade that holds up to today’s meta. It also features Free Ball, which is a great part for any collection.
- Hasbro Drop Stadium: Great value! You get Hover Wyvern (a meta blade) and Impact Drake, which is good out of the box. The Low Rush bit and 9-60 ratchet are excellent parts to have.

Bonus Waves
These bonus waves are good to scratch that nostalgia itch or even get something that’s linked to your favourite franchise. Although some of the choices are not optimal for competitive play I still think these are fun to play with especially if you are looking for new colour combos to level-up your style points!

Closing statement
When we talk about “straight out of the box,” the best options for any starting blader are:
- Drop Attack Stadium: Includes Hover Wyvern and Impact Drake.
- Soar Phoenix Starter Pack: Comes with a string launcher and a competitive blade.
- Green Wizard Wand: If you can find one, I definitely recommend picking it up ASAP! They wonโt last long in the wild.
A reminder: There are pros and cons to all Beyblades, so take this guide with a grain of salt! Play the beys you want to and have fun.
